Summary of Agostino

 

“Agostino” is a novel about a 13-year-old boy who enjoys an idyllic summer with his young, widowed mother at a seaside resort in Tuscany. His world is turned upside down when his mother begins a relationship with a local man. Feeling abandoned, Agostino finds himself drawn to a group of rough local boys who ridicule him for his privileged background and his ignorance about women and sex.
