Reasons to read Bees on the Snow

“Bees on the Snow” is a fairy-tale-like story that paints a loving portrait of rural life in Lithuania, told through the interactions of the pastor with his colourful villagers. The plot might be simple, but the story is enriched with humour, tenderness, and local legends. Saulius Šaltenis won the Lithuanian National Prize for his contributions to Lithuanian literature. He also served as a Minister for Culture after Lithuania’s independence in the 1990s.
