Summary of Pompeii
Set during the Roman Empire, the historical novel āPompeiiā follows Attilius, an engineer responsible for maintaining the āAqua Augustaā, the aqueduct serving the city of Pompeii in the year AD 79. His task is to ensure that the water reservoirs of the city remain full, but corruption within Pompeii – and his affection for the beautiful Corelia ā complicate his mission. The novel builds to a dramatic climax with the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, described in vivid and scientifically informed detail.
