A young, mentally unstable man named Adam Pollo lives alone in an abandoned house in the South of France. He spends his time visiting bars and beaches and meeting a girl named Michelle. She appears to be his girlfriend, though their relationship is far from healthy.

“The Interrogation” is a slow-paced book about a man’s struggle with his inner demons. Some readers hail it as a masterpiece of 1960s experimental literature, while others criticise it for its slow plotline and its rather unsympathetic protagonist. J. M. G. Le Clézio is a celebrated French – Mauritian author who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2008. His debut novel “The Interrogation” earned him the Prix Renaudot in 1963. He later received the Grand Prix Paul Morand in 1980 for his novel “Désert”.
