Jonas Wergeland, a charismatic Norwegian television producer, returns home in Oslo to find his wife murdered in their living room – and quickly becomes the prime suspect in the eyes of the public. As he tries to unravel the mystery of her death, he also examines his own life, from his youth to his television fame and his evolution into a notorious womaniser, all culminating in the events of that fateful day.
