Reasons to read The Sunrise

ā€œThe Sunriseā€ chronicles the sudden downfall of the city of Famagusta and the survival of two families in the aftermath of the Turkish invasion of 1974. Victoria Hislop, a British author, is known for her best-selling novels set on Mediterranean islands (see also “The Island“). While some readers find ā€œThe Sunriseā€ lacking in plot or substance, others do appreciate it as an interesting and enjoyable story, perfect for a light read during a summer holiday in Cyprus.
